Last weekend we went to the Ginza and then had tea at the Conrad Hotel which overlooks Tokyo Bay. For $66.00 you get a tea set consisting of scones (best I've ever had and I've been to England), finger sandwiches and cakelettes, plus free flowing sparkling wine. They served Chandon Brut (not bad) for two hours. Oh, and you can have tea if you want it too. All this while taking in the spectacular view. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
Did I mention two hours of free flowing sparkling wine?
While we were in the Ginza a race broke out.
Just happened to be the Tokyo Marathon.
At the Wako Ginza, (famous department store),
they had a cupid peaking around the corner.
Now I've heard told that Cupid is supposed to pierce you with an arrow of true love.
But I think here in the Ginza it's an arrow poisoned with true capitalism.
Nice Champagne, er Tea, service. I've heard that the Japanese are obsessed with a version of valentines day that takes place around our christmas time. Is that true?
